This is where the Beatles stayed.
Backtracking: 4 hours of fevered sleep Sunday evening, then a drive to London & a further 3 fevered hours sleep before a taxi to Heathrow at 05.20 Monday. Nine fevered hours to Chicago, 13 fevered hours to Tokyo, every visit to the inflight easement chamber an exercise in exquisite plumbing agony. Then 2 hours in a taxi with Yoko of Pony Canyon here to the Tokyu, arriving c. 19.00 Tuesday. Mr. Jun Sato of PC welcomed me in the lobby, also Masa Matsuzaki & Atsushi Naito of Infini. Masa brought a cappuccino machine for my room, plus two Fernandes guitars for practising.
David Singleton was at the desk checking in when I arrived. David's birthday is March 21st., and he lost most of his celebration day to shifting time zones. George Murphy is accompanying David & myself on this journey: a Big Three for BTV.
Our Wednesday began at 09.30 with Infini, and then a series of BTV meetings through to 19.00. The pals of BTV went out for dinner. Tets the Hero of Pony Canyon called to see if I was writing my notes for the Japanese cover. Yes, I told Tets, rather than going out to eat I'm staying in to write your notes.
Let's not even begin the discussion on whether it's possible to get online. David has tried the special equipment provided & given up, so I've accepted that I'm e-unline until next Monday in the UK. So, premature apologies for the late posting of this Diary.
